12 Weeks!

Some say that 12 weeks is the beginning of the 2nd trimester! So to some I am already there!!! I am going by the fact that a pregnancy s 40 weeks and divide into 3, that would make 2nd trimester starting 13 weeks 3 days!! Almost there!! 10 days to go!

Baby's face is looking more human as his eyes have moved to the front of his head and his ears are in place. Hooray! Other amazing fetal highlights this week:

Your baby is able to swallow this week and practices on the amniotic fluid he or she floats in. (And you thought baby food was kind of nasty!) And in case you're wondering how your kid can breathe in all that fluid, here's your answer: Fetuses get oxygen from the blood pumped into their bodies by the placenta and don't breathe with their lungs. Mystery solved!

Junior has doubled in size over the past two weeks and now weighs almost ½ ounce. He's also now around 2 ½ inches long!

Bargains!!!

I headed out yesterday in search of jeans that fit well. I headed to Burlington Coat Factory where I was shicked to find the most expensive pair of maternity jeans were 16.99!!! Compared to 25+ everywhere else unless on sale for like 19.99!!! I scored a pair of perfectly fitting jeans for $6.49 and some super comfy and cute shirts for 4.49, yes read that correctly!!! I was in heaven!!! I headed to JCP to return the $ jeans and found a maternity skirt for $10 and 2 really cute tops one for %5 the other for $2! Let me just say how happy I am that "tunics" are in style, so hopefully I will not have to drape myself in tents during this pregnancy!!!

All jeaned out!

So I am in need of some maternity jeans. I was going to borrow some from a friend who just had her baby, however they are pretty big on me. Bummer. So off I headed in search of some today. Not really that I NEED them right now because of my (non-existent) ever growing belly...the bloat tends to push my nice fitting jeans down and they slip a bit in the rear as well as kind of start digging in by the end of the day. So I decided that for this weekends trip to Nashville for the Oral Cancer Awareness walk I would need to wear maternity jeans for comfort. Then of course when I REALLY need to start wearing them I will. Off to Kohls and Old Navy I went! Wasn't paying that much at Kohls and wasn't a big fan of the ON ones. I even decided to try once upon a child. Which it seemed all of those were too short! I guess these jeans have so much stretch they shrink up pretty bad (note to self to air dry)Then I realized I had a JCP gift card. So there headed. In desperation I tried on about 15 different styles & washed. I found a pair I "could live with" but they were a little baggy in the rear. Some say I have a flat toosh-including myself. But I have come to realize that now that I am loosing some weight my rear is coming back :O) and I need to wear properly fitted jeans to see that cute lil heiney of mine! So anywhooo I decided on the jeans in a medium. DO WHAT?! Yes I am in a size 12/14 right now so that would say large. Not 8/10 medium. But whatever! They may not fit 6 months from now but they look good now at that is what counts, since it will be hotter heck and probably wont be wearing jeans after May or June anyways!

I hope the next maternity article of clothing I purchase isn't such an ordeal!

****Looks like I will be headed back out tomorrow in sear4ch of the perfect jeans. I have worn these around the house for the poast hour or so & ran up and down the stgairs a few times. Too much stretch, these suckers just slide of my flat bum. Wish me luck in the a.m.

Maternity Monday

Maternity Monday
How far along? 11 weeks 2 days!!

Total weight gain/loss: -7.4 lbs

Maternity clothes? Just the BeBand. I did by some tanks on sale-just long ones and wore one yesterday cause I liked the color. Not because I needed it ha. I may wear maternity jeans to the walk this coming weekend just because I know walking a few miles in my jeans will be uncomfy.

Stretch marks? not from baby

Sleep: We got out 4 inch memory foam mattress topper and that has already helped a ton! Especially with my hips hurting. Now if only I could find the PERFECT pillow!

Best moment this week: Knowing that next week I will be in my last full week of my 1st trimester!!

Movement: Babies moving but I won't be able to feel it for a while

Food cravings: None really this week. I have been able to gradually get back to my normal eating!! That means organic foods!

Symptoms: I can feel things stretching and that isn't too pleasant. Headaches and gas, also unpleasant.

Gender: Nick said this week he now thinks it is a girl tehehe. I am sure this will change many many times over the next 9 weeks!

Labor Signs: Not for a while I hope! Keep on baking little one!!

Belly Button in or out? Innie

What I miss: Coffee. I need to just break down and buy some decaf since there is less caffeine but I know I won't drink it often enough. SO maybe a Heine's Bros run?

What I am looking forward to: Oral Cancer walk this weekend in Nashville!!! Then seeing our baby again a few days after on St. Patty's Day!

Weekly Wisdom: Don't click on random things your computer will get a virus.

Milestones: Dad says I am glowing ;O)

11 Weeks!

Baby's now the size of a lime!
All of your baby's vital organs are now formed and functioning, so the risk of defects decreases this week as your baby becomes less susceptible to outside influences. Phew! Other exciting developments include:

Baby's ears are assuming their proper place this week and the fingernail and toenail beds are beginning to form. Your little "pumpkin head" really lives up to his nickname as his head is nearly as big as the rest of his body.
