I still cannot believe that we now know the sex of our little GBaby!! Here is the u/s shot of the goods.


Can you tell what baby G is?? The sonographer had one heck of a time with our little one. Yup, that's right a modest baby


She looked healthy and perfect!! I must say it is still sinking in that we have a sweet baby girl on the way!!

Tomorrow.

Today we have a mover and a shaker!

I suppose it is because I have been pretty "idle" today. Lots of relaxing after yesterdays mulching fest and cleaning spree!!

I sure hope baby moves just the right amount tomorrow for the big anatomy scan!!
I cannot believe it is already here!! It felt like so far away just a few weeks ago!!

This morning Nick laid $5 on the table to put his bet in that it is a boy. He said I had to put a bet in...I just cannot decide. I have too many people telling me one way or the other to make my mind up for my own. Doc Brown who apparently is right 9 out of 10 times says boy, and she has my mind all a skewed!! And of course all those old wives tales mostly say girl but with a little boy mixed in. I don't know how much I really believe all that "I just have a feeling" business, I think it is more like that is what you want it to be, maybe that's just a feeling ;O) So, I thought maybe I would start to feel one way or the other the further along I got, but nope. That's right this momma has no clue. Guess I better get used to it.

Drano Shmano

This evening I peed in a glass cup and my wonderful husband poured in some Drano Crystals. Awwww what some people will do for love.

Yes I am know I am not 16 weeks yet...however what will a few days hurt? Besides baby was measuring ahead at the last checkup so if we go by that I am technically 16 weeks!

Looks to me like Drano predicts a girl!


We will probably do it again in a few weeks!

In yet another version of the Drano test, if the substance bubbles up when a pregnant woman urinates on it, she is carrying a boy; boy, if there are few to no bubbles, she's carrying a girl. *No bubbles!

Here are some more Old Wives Tales~

* Position of the Baby: Many swear that if a woman carries her baby high in the uterus and her stomach has a round appearance, the chances are excellent she is expecting a girl. Likewise, a boy is carried low and relatively more sideways. *No Idea how I am carrying I think more round?

However, many swear by the exact opposite and believe boys are always carried high. Go figure.

* Activity of the Baby: It is said that an unborn baby who is very active, kicks, and moves a great deal in the womb is far more likely to be a girl than a boy. According to one delivery-room nurse, "Boys are lazier, even before they are born."*I am feeling flutters & baby is right on schedule every day around 9:30 pm they start! So I say girl on this one.

* Hand Position of the Baby: If the ultrasound shows the baby's hands are raised, the child is a girl; if they are down, the child is a boy. *This says girl!

* Baby's Boots: If the unborn kicks on the right side of the mother's womb, he's a boy; if on the left, she's a girl. *Feel flutters on left almost always

* Stripe Theory: A woman sporting a stripe down her middle will have a boy, and the absence of one indicates a girl. (A man bearing a stripe down his back, especially if it's yellow, oh, nevermind.) *No stripe.

* Heartbeat: If a baby's heart registers 130 beats per minute or faster it is a girl, whereas under 130 indicates a boy. *162 last checkup

* Sweet Versus Sour: A woman who craves sweets is bearing a boy; a lust for sour foods indicates she's carrying a girl. *Sour

* Spicy Cravings: A mom-to-be who desires a diet of spicy foods is expecting a boy. *None for me

* Heartburn: An expectant mom who is especially troubled by heartburn and indigestion will have a boy. (This "sign" may be related to the indicator above.) *not too bad depends on what I eat.

* Bloodshot Eyes: If the expectant woman's eyes become bloodshot and her nose broadens, she's carrying a girl. *No idea if my nose has widened or is widening but my eyes aren't bloodshot!

* Nosebleeds: A mom-to-be who suffers nosebleeds will be delivered of a girl. *No nosebleeds for me!

* Hairy Legs: An expectant mom who has to shave her legs more frequently during her pregnancy is said to be awaiting the delivery of a girl. *CHECK!

This second set of "tests" requires more active participation on the part of the prognosticator. (The Drano test properly belongs on this list.)

* Dangling a Pin: A pin or needle affixed to a piece of thread is dangled over the expectant woman's wrist. If the pin swings back and forth, it's a boy. If it twirls in circles, it's a girl. Some suggest using a nail instead of a pin. Some say the pin or nail should dangle over the mother's stomach instead of her wrist. *This said girl

* Dangling the Wedding Ring: The mom-to-be's wedding ring is tied to a piece of string or a strand of her hair and suspended over her stomach. If the ring rotates counterclockwise, it's a boy. If it rotates clockwise, it's a girl. *This also said girl

Chinese Lunar Calendar: The sex of the baby is determined by the mother's 'lunar age' (age plus nine months) at conception and the month of conception. (Click here if you'd like to try it for yourself.) *Says girl

Once again these Old Wives Tales point to a girl.

Gender?

Ok so the topic of gender has come up recently with several people. Nope, don't have a gut feeling. All the Old Wives Tales says its a girl. Yup, from the ring/needle on a string to the Chinese predictor. Most of my family as well as Nick's are thinking blue. I love the little girls name we picked and recently my heart melted when I saw this little girls bedding I found even more than the bedding that I fell in love with that was gender neutral. So maybe those are little signs? Who knows!!!

I have told DH that we could pay $30 and get one of those Intelli-Gender piss testers and he said nope. We are going to a Baby Fair at a local hospital in a few weekend where there will be lots of vendors so I am hoping to find a coupon for 1/2 price 3d u/s or something! I need to just see when our gender sonogram will be scheduled (I know around 20 weeks) but maybe I can convince them a little earlier since baby is measuring little further and I will be going to CA so closely after my u/s. We shall see if I can do a little sweet talking ;O)

Here is a little tidbit someone posted on one of the message boards I am on, thought it was pretty interesting ;O)

A papyrus described a test in which a woman who might be pregnant could urinate on wheat and barley seeds over the course of several days: “If the barley grows, it means a male child. If the wheat grows, it means a female child.
